Death and George Miller stand in the silent street square. Time is frozen; cars are halted halfway, dust suspended half a meter in the air.
DeathHere are the rules. Save three people. Let them live, you get reborn.
GeorgeSave... three people? You say it so lightly. How do I find them? I don't even know who they are!
Death flicks his finger gently. A black scroll slowly unfurls, revealing three faces so blurry they seem shrouded in mist.
DeathI will give you preliminary information. You won't see the full picture directly. You can only return to one hour before their death.
DeathIn that hour, you can enter their subconscious, dreams, memories... All you get are fragments of information. Real, but incomplete.
GeorgeFragments? Then how will I know what to do?
DeathYou piece together the truth. You decide. No one else.
The scroll closes. The countdown on the protagonist's wrist flashes: 02:56:00.
DeathYou have two hours and fifty-six minutes left. Good luck.
GeorgeHey! Wait! At least tell me—why did they die? How do I—
Death's voice begins to fade as his form turns into gray smoke.
DeathYou will see for yourself.
The smoke clears, and the world restarts. Cars roar past; time moves forward. Only George Miller remains, clutching the branded, burning countdown, standing before a destiny about to unfold. He does not know if he can save the unknown three, or what kind of journey lies ahead.
